It is an approved state govt. organization for civil service exams of entry-level appointments in different civil services of Uttar Pradesh Government. The work of this Commission is also governed by the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission Regulation, 1976.
Briefly, this Commission was established on 1 April 1937 in Prayagraj (Allahabad). The main purpose of setting up this commission was to select the candidates through recruitment exams for various departments and services in the state.
